Week 15 of 2017-2018 School Year

    Dear Students and Parents,

Today we started with a do now (match characters, pictures and Pinyin), when we went over the do now, students talked about their own hobbies as well as what they like to do in Chinese.  After the do now, we started to review lesson 8: hobbies. Students wrote their own hobby on the board. Then we learned Hui, Ke yi, and Neng. We discussed what are the differences between these three words by giving examples. Lastly, we finished lesson 8 and did the quiz parts.  We also played a game; one student chose a mystery number and other students said the sentence to match the number using the vocabulary we learned today in class.  I just assigned week 15 homework. Make sure to use class 1, not class 2.

    Sincerely,

    C07 Zhang Laoshi

    Dear Students and Parents,

Happy New Year! (Xin Nian Kuai Le!)

Welcome back from the winter break. Hope you all had a restful and nice break. Today we started with a do now (to write some simple characters and answer questions), when we went over the do now, students used their own situations in their life to discuss in Chinese.  After the discussion, we started lesson 8 which talked about hobbies including watching TV, listening to music, playing basketball, playing games etc. Lastly, we did some exercises from character workbook and quiz parts.  Lastly, we played a game; one student chose a mystery number and other students said the sentence to match the number using the vocabulary we learned today in class.  There is no school next week in observance of Martin Luther King Day, but you will have homework.

I just assigned week 14 homework. Make sure to use class 1, not class 2.

    Sincerely,

Week 11 of 2017-2018 School Year

    Dear Students and Parents,

    Dear Students and Parents,

I was out of town this weekend. Today Wang Laoshi substituted for me. She told me that students completed lesson 7 (until page 125 on the workbook) which talks about classroom objects, colors and a few adjectives. Next week we will be reviewing what they have learned today through Q & A, doing some worksheet and group work before we move on to finish lesson 7. Please be ready to share with our class what items do you have in your school bag and what color they are (we already learned colors last year).

I just assigned week 11 homework. Make sure we are class 1, not class 2.

    Sincerely,

    C07 Zhang Laoshi
